Let's Get Started

General Info

If you are new to Scouting, then you're in for an amazing adventure! Please plan to join us for Scout Info Night on Thursday Aug. 15 at 6:30pm at Simpson Elementary. Students and their parents are welcome to attend; there will be activities planned for students during the meeting. Pack leaders and Scouts will share a short presentation about Scouting and what fun activities and adventures Pack 575 offers throughout the school year.

At Scout Info Night, if you and your student are ready to join Scouts there will be an opportunity to register your student with the pack (details below) and leadership will be available for meet and greet.

If you'd like to learn more about Cub Scouts, watch the video below to help answer some of the most frequently asked questions. More details about Pack 575 can be found here on our website.

We look forward to getting your student started on his Scouting journey!

Pack 575 FAQs

Below are more specific details about how our pack does scouting.

When do you meet?

Our pack meetings are at least once a month typically on the 3rd Thursday of the month. The location can vary depending on what is planned for the meeting, but it's always within the Peachtree Corners area and is shared in Scoutbook.

Each den also meets at least once a month, typically on a different day than the monthly pack meeting. Some dens may choose to meet more often to complete adventures or to build community as a den. The frequency, location, and dates are completely up to the den.

Pack 575 plans various events throughout the year, including our Fall and Spring family campouts, Winter trip, and Pinewood Derby. These dates are shared much in advance so families can plan ahead.

How much does it cost?

When you register your Scout with our pack, the fee is $185 which covers national and local dues/fees and also helps to offset event costs, food and supplies, and other pack activities throughout the year. The fee does not include the cost of the uniform, which your Scout will purchase separately and is specific to his den and rank. First time Cub Scouts will be mailed a launch kit which includes several fun Scouting items to welcome them to a year of adventures and fun!

Additionally, our Scouts participate in the Popcorn Fundraiser to raise funds to support their Scouting experience. If your Scout does not wish to participate in fundraising you will be asked to cover the missing costs with a nominal fee.

What is Scoutbook?

"Scoutbook" is the most important resource to keep track of everything related to Pack 575.  As an online tool, it is used to communicate and track Scouts' progress in badge adventures, rank advancement, and all scheduled meetings and events. More information to utilize Scoutbook will be shared after joining the pack.

What are the next steps?

We will have a joint pack meeting on August 29th at Simpsonwood Park for you to see first hand what scouting is all about. If you missed the info night or haven't registered your child in Cub Scouts, this will be your last chance to get in on the fun. Once we have processed all of the forms, we will place new Scouts in dens by grade level.

More information is also available on our New Parent Orientation page and the general scouting New Parent Guide.
